Ottobre 1/04 jeans
These are the jeans in Ottobre issue 1/2004 with the pockets that wrap around from the front to the back. We did our pair in denim. They came out just slightly large, but Zach really likes them, especially the roomy pockets.

It's Ladybug Girl!
Ladybug Girl is one of Lily's favorite book characters right now. I made her this outfit that she calls her Ladybug Girl outfit. The top is the Hilda top from Ottobre 6/07 #27, and the leggings are from the Farbenmix book Sewing Clothes Kids Love: Sewing Patterns and Instructions for Boys' and Girls' Outfits
She likes to wear her new outfit with the fairy wings from last year's Halloween costume for the full effect.

Lily's first summer set done
This is the "Piparminttu" jersey pinafore dress from the new Ottobre 1/2010 issue. It is the first sewing I have really done since Christmas, aside from mending some things and small items finished up that I started in November and December.
I found this dress to run very very wide. I actually narrowed it about 1/2 inch in both front and back prior to sewing, but it is still wide, wider than it actually looks in the picture. The lower armholes gape quite a bit. It is a cute style, but I want to narrow it more if I make it again.
Have I mentioned lately that I hate doing knit bindings? This striped ribknit stretched horribly and, even after steaming, it doesn't look great. Oh well, knowing Lily, it will be stained after a wearing or two anyway and won't matter.
Her leggings are "capri" leggings from Ottobre 1/07. I did like that pattern a lot and plan to make more of those. They are longer than capri on her now, but it is only February 1st, and these are for summer, so I have to make build in an inch or so of growth room at least. :)

PJs for N and nephew
Sew Mama Sew blog is having a Pajama Party and I'm joining in. Well honestly I usually sew jammies this time of year anyway. Here are two pair I made Saturday. The pattern is the Ottobre Magazine 4/04 issue, the leggings and the long-sleeve t-shirt. The smaller ones are for my nephew as part of his birthday present, and the larger set is for my son, Noah. The fabric is a nice thermal knit from Joanns with vehicles all over it. This is the beginning of my PJs for the month, but not nearly the end as Noah still needs more, and so does Lily need a couple sets. Luckily I have plenty of fabric ... some would even say too much! LOL

Later gator PJ set
I have been doing a TON of sewing lately, participating in the Pattern Stash Contest at Patternreview.com. Today was a tank top pattern, Ottobre Design Magazine Issue 2/2005, design #19. I matched it up with some Kwik Sew knit shorts for a PJ set for Noah. He liked them so much he wanted to wear them the rest of the day after modeling them for the photo. :)
